I also love the number 13 so I thought what a GREAT reason to write a song. (For those of you who don't know yet, it's 2013!!) This is going to be an incredible year. I recorded it on Jan 1, 2013. A sunny, beautiful, joyful day.
I wish you all the best for this year (and all the others to come).

I wrote this one with my eyes closed and my hands not even close to a piano. Just pressed record on my Mac and all these words started coming out. I was thinking about the comfort of a home and the urge to leave that comfort to experience adventure and live a little. But like Dorothy, sometimes all you need is in your own backyard, or within the four walls of your home. When we were working on this song in the studio, I didn't know which direction it would go in, but I have to say I am THRILLED with how it turned out. Hope you like like like a LOT.

Who needs a haricut? This shot was taken right before I performed for an incredible crowd at the 2012 TIMAs. (Toronto Independent Music Awards). I certainly do love being on stage.

Here is my newest single. It's a quirky upbeat creation that mixes the hopelessness of "forever" with the hopefulness in the last verse...
"Let the lovers love, and the haters hate, we'll all just happily go our own way. I'll see you on the other side, I kind of hope that I'm not right when I say: Forever Don't Last these days"
I hope you enjoy! Please share with friends and family.

I can't wait to get back there to perform more. The city itself does a lot for local emerging artists, musicians, not to mention the energy that everyone seems to have. I couldn't believe how many people made it out to both of my performances, I'm SO grateful.
The picture basically summarized the life I want to live: Toting my massive keyboard all over hell's half acre so that I can sing for everyone and anyone. Teetering on heels, smiling ear to ear.
Thanks to my UNBELIEVABLE friends who came out (in no particular order, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of names...it's this memory of mine! It's like a sieve).
Karoline Lapko, Danielle Simpson, Geoff Carran, Chris Witoski (thanks Erik Becks), Matt Cairns, Paige Olmsted, Nick Hodgson, Billy Mainguy, Rob Purdy, Christine Hardie, Jackie Birch, Richard Fazakarley, Katie Gaele, Lacy Lauks, Roberto Ricci, Tanya, Erica Olmstead, Darren Miller, Duncan Finley, Jos Carthy, Steph Wilson, Dan Wilson, Chris Brewster, Graham Brewster, Kristen Powell, Maria Pajerska, Basia Pajerska, Mike Hamata, Kerry Lynn, JWo, Kristen Landgraff, Max (The Cattails), Vikram Kambli, Ian Vecmanis, Adam Henderson, Virgina Bird, Kaitlin Thomas, Luke Dineley, Jorday (thanks Kristen Rabbior), Riaz Meghji (thanks Nat DeFreitas), Zandre Nemetz-Sinchein, Hanna Perry, Kevin Befsplug, Ashleigh Fasken (thanks Kira Williamson)
And thank you for snowballing and inviting even more people to come out!
It was truly my pleasure. As I hope it was yours : )

Hello, hello! So I currently find myself looking over the harbour from Davie Village. Beautiful view, lovely energy. I've already seen tons of friends, and met lots of new ones. It has been incredible thus far, and the best is yet to come...
Please come out and join me! I have two shows lined up while I am here, as follows:
Thursday, Nov 8, 8pm-10pm Raw Canvas - 1046 Hamilton St, Vancouver
Friday, Nov 9, 8-8:30pm Trees Organic Cafe - 450 Granville St, Vancouver
On Thursday night I'm sharing the stage with Chris Witoski. A friend introduced us, and now we will be performing together! There is a $5 cover (or pay what you can).
Friday night, I will be sharing the stage with some really talented bands. I actually heard Ryan Smith play last night at the open mic at Benny's and was very impressed. Looking forward to hearing more. As well, Cheatgrass will also be performing...can't wait to hear them.
So if you are in the area, or have friends that are, please tell them about the shows, and come out to have some fun!!
